Hello, my name is Yvonne. I was living the dream life with a great career and my four adult children reaching independence, when suddenly all of our lives changed completely when our 20-year-old son and brother, Ben, was killed by a drunk driver. 

I had never before experienced such a profound loss, and wasn’t sure that I would survive it. But I did, and I learnt many things about grief and loss on the way. I also captured my journey as writing became my solace and helped my heart to heal. 

Know that you are not alone in your sorrow. In Soul Stripped Bare, 15 other parents share their stories of loss. Although it was hard to open old wounds, each parent found the process comforting. My aim is to provide comfort and support to those experiencing grief and loss. Soul Stripped Bare  is a grief manual designed to help you find healing through shared stories and understanding.
